After School Student Mentor

JOB DESCRIPTION
✓ Strategic Kids After School Student Mentors help elementary K-6 students with their homework, understanding concepts, and time management after school.
✓ Each Student Mentor will work individually with students and groups of students at an elementary school in Anaheim and Orange.
✓ Games and activities can also motivate students with fun goal-setting challenges to make homework time successful.
✓ Some students may not always behave properly or may need additional guidance.
✓ Strategic Kids After School Student Mentors may also speak to parents/guardians during drop-off or pick-up at the school site to communicate how their children are progressing with their homework and behavior.

WORK SCHEDULE
✓ 2.5 to 2.75 hours per day
✓ Option #1: T & Th (2:00pm - 4:45pm)
✓ Option #2 (On-Call): M, T, Th, F (1:45pm - 4:50pm) & W (11:50am - 2:55pm)
✓ On-call staff must be available M-F
✓ Start and end times may vary based on the school's needs, but are still 2.5-hour days

EXPERIENCE
Background and experience in a classroom setting are highly recommended, and working with students/children with specialized learning outcomes is preferred.

Strategic Kids hires staff that are positive, joyful, flexible, responsible, on-time, and willing to drive to any assigned school site.

REQUIREMENTS
✓ 18 years old or older
✓ Read, Write, and Speak in English & Spanish
✓ Being bilingual in any language is also a huge plus!
✓ Have a current driver's license and your own vehicle (car) to drive to assigned school(s)
✓ Live within 15 miles from assigned school(s) in Orange County
✓ Pass Live Scan Fingerprints through Dept. of Justice (paid for by Strategic Kids)
✓ Attend a paid 2-hour New Hire Orientation (NHO) in Laguna Hills
✓ Work assigned schedule or any modifications

Strategic Kids hires and trains energetic and creative people and places them in K-12 public schools to work as K-12 Support Staff/Paraeducators in Orange County schools to meet the various needs of districts.
