School Nutrition Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION
✔ Assist in preparing, setting up, and serving food to students at K-12 public schools in Costa Mesa or Newport Beach
✔ Maintain food service facilities
✔ Provide excellent customer service by engaging with students and staff
✔ Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas
✔ Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately
✔ Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient meal service and support

REQUIREMENTS
✔ Be willing to work "on call." Nutrition Assistants are notified in the morning.
✔ Previous experience in food service, preferably in a school or institutional setting
✔ Excellent customer service skills
✔ Food Handlers Certificate is a plus
✔ Proficiency in written and oral communication
✔ Proficiency with multitasking
✔ Cash register and computer skills
✔ Understanding of basic nutrition principles and dietary guidelines
✔ Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures
✔ Experience working with children or in a school environment

WORK SCHEDULE
The work schedule is on-call, 4 hours per day.
✔ Must be available 4 to 5 days per week 8:30am - 2:00pm

REQUIREMENTS
✔ 18 years old or older
✔ Read, Write, and Speak in English
✔ Being bilingual in any language is also a huge plus!
✔ Have a current driver's license and your own vehicle (car) to drive to assigned school(s)
✔ Live within 15 miles from assigned school(s) in Orange County
✔ Pass Live Scan Fingerprints through Dept. of Justice (paid for by Strategic Kids)
✔ Work assigned schedule or any modifications
