Job Summary
SMSI LLC is seeking a Technical Project Manager 4 to support a site in Richland, Washington. The candidate should have experience with technical design review, EVMS, and experience with procurements, proposals and bids. The candidate should have experience supporting projects for DOE or NRC, using EVMS programs, 413.3B projects and/or experience with NQA-1 processes, fabrication, and construction.
This position allows for mostly remote work with some travel, as needed to Los Alamos, NM and Richland, WA.
Responsibilities
- The Technical Project Manager 4 will define what will be accomplished to meet specific programmatic needs and produce the work products defined by the work assignments.
- They will function in an oversight role that will include contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of program policies, procedures, and standards; determining program enhancements; providing technical advice to staff, other departments, and performs related work as required.
- The Technical Project Manager will manage and ensure the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects; establish technical requirements for the project; define project deliverables, schedules, and communicate risks; and oversee a project from the planning, tracking, and execution of the project from initiation to completion.
Required Skills/ Abilities
- The qualified candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in a Department of Energy or NRC environment.
- The candidate should have experience with technical design review, EVMS, and experience with procurements, proposals and bids.
- Experience in developing and nurturing effective high-level internal and/or external customer relationships and performing management assessments is required.
- Experience with EVMS, quality control or assurance is required.
- The candidate must be able to manage complex issues under NQA-1.
- Must have prior DOE experience supporting EVMS programs, 413.3B projects and/or experience with NQA-1 processes, fabrication, and construction.
- Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor a wide variety of team efforts to completion is required.
- Ability to prepare and deliver performance status communications to all levels of management, both internal and external is required.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
- Prior DOE experience supporting D&D, environmental restoration and 413.3B construction projects is highly preferred.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree will be considered.
