Strategic Management is currently seeking a highly motivated professional for a Healthcare Regulatory Analyst position to work in our Alexandria, VA office. The Healthcare Regulatory Analyst supports our consulting team and their clients in ensuring full compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards. The role involves monitoring, interpreting, and analyzing federal and state regulatory requirements affecting healthcare operations, as well as drafting and editing client reports, regulatory documentation, industry briefs, and memos on proposed or finalized regulations, ensuring clear communication on complex compliance topics.
Responsibilities Include
- Analyze healthcare regulations including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and more to ensure client compliance with federal and state regulations, laws and federal healthcare program requirements.
- Provide regulatory expertise with in-depth understanding of complex healthcare regulations to the Strategic Management consulting team.
- Conduct regulatory research on current and emerging healthcare laws, creating memos, white papers, and briefs to inform clients of key developments.
- Assist in developing and updating healthcare policies to ensure alignment with current regulatory standards.
- Present regulatory compliance updates to the consulting team, ensuring awareness of the latest changes in regulations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in various settings, adapting style to engage and inform the consulting team.
- Collaborate with internal teams to review and enhance Strategic Management's policies, training, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Develop client-facing educational materials and training sessions to ensure understanding of complex regulatory requirements.
- Take accountability for meeting deadlines, ensuring the accuracy and quality of all deliverables.
- Maintain professional certifications, including completing continuing education and re-certification exams to stay current in the field.
Qualifications
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and guidelines, including the Affordable Care Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, HITECH Act, Stark Law, and the requirements of Medicare and Medicaid and other Federal healthcare programs, along with relevant government-issued guidance.
- Possess superior writing skills, excellent oral communication and presentation abilities, and exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex information and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Professional working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Word and in Zoom or similar video conferencing platform.
Education and Certification Requirements
- Master's Degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or Public Administration.
- Experience working in healthcare regulatory analysis or have completed master-level coursework in a related field, such as healthcare compliance, public policy, or regulatory affairs, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
- Holds an active privacy certification, such as CHPC, CHPS.
