About The Role
SMG3 has experienced constant growth since our inception. The last few years have shown a level of growth that now requires us to bring in a chief operating officer (COO) to maximize our processes and efficiencies to best support this growth and to continue to deliver on our value proposition for our clients. The COO will be responsible for the oversight management and cohesion of multiple departments including Operations, Professional Services, Warehouse and Shipping, Project Management, and Sales Success (support). The COO will collaborate with our executive team (CEO, CFO, CTO, VP of Sales, Director of National Accounts) to successfully carry out company initiatives. To be considered for this position, you must be a strong leader with a proven history of process efficiency. You must also be an excellent communicator who can work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage directors and managers in Operations, Professional Services, Warehouse and Shipping, Project Management, and Sales Success (support)
- Coach and develop these teams to ensure they are delivering on key business metrics
- Help foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within departments
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement business strategies to align with the company’s goals and objectives
- Work with CFO to manage budgets for the above-stated departments
- Review all existing processes and their flows to determine if they are most efficient
- Work with CTO to align any new or changed processes with internal system
- Work with CTO to align training with stated goals and initiatives of designated departments
- Review roles within departments and output to determine resource efficiencies and needs
- Communicate policies to employees to help support overall goals and culture
- Evaluate company performance and recommend strategies to improve results
- Mentor and inspire employees to help bring forth the vision of management
- Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on departments and progress to executive team
- Other responsibilities as assigned
