Job Title: Financial Manager
Division: Strategic Realty Management Inc.
Reports To: Vice President of Accounting
Effective Date: October 15, 2020
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Must record any and all time worked, whether approved or not. All time worked must be reported in the week it is worked.
Summary: Assists the Vice President of Accounting with the organization’s, and all its associated groups’, financial planning and financing practices, as well as its relationship with lending institutions, partners, and the financial community by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:
- Reviews multifamily entity financial statements on a monthly basis, reconciles general ledger balances to internally-prepared schedules, and analyzes general ledger balances for variances from budgeted amounts. As necessary, provides supporting documentation detailing variances from the budgets.
- Prepares all multifamily entity reports and financial statements as required (e.g. quarterly syndication reports) to be reviewed.
- Completes all monthly and yearly closings of all multifamily entities. Updates all necessary filing of multifamily entity information on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis.
- Posts all budgets into the general ledger software upon proper approval.
- Reconciles all multifamily entity bank accounts monthly and prepares all journal entries for review and approval.
- Prepares detailed schedules for the year-end corporate and multifamily entity audits and tax returns.
- Prepares detailed account analysis and investigation of variances, as needed.
- Reconciles security deposit cash with security deposit liability of the multifamily entities and prepares supporting documentation on a monthly basis.
- Co-ordinates operations and workflow to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial information and reports.
- Accumulates and posts all multifamily entity financial information to the general ledger at month-end.
- Payments –Selects invoices for payment on a weekly basis as well as tracking and ensuring security deposits refunds are processed within state mandated timeline with all approved paperwork.
- AT&T Bill –Allocates costs associated with any 3rd party invoices to multi-family communities and submits to the Accounting Assistant for payment processing.
- Filing – Completes all filing of bank statements, financial documents, employee documents, and miscellaneous items.
- Special Projects – Completes special projects assigned by Vice President of Accounting or any other upper-level management staff.

Education/Experience: Four-year college or university degree in Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate, if applicable; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, group leaders within the company, and members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise up to two (2) subordinate supervisors. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of operational business units. Directly supervise one non-supervisory support employee. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance appraisal, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
