SSU is actively seeking a Frequency Management Lead to join our team in Camp Humphries, South Korea. The Frequency Management Lead will provide Frequency Management (FM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) administrative and technical support during exercises and contingency, day-to-day, and military operations to USFK. This position is contingent upon award.***
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate military spectrum use with Republic of Korea (ROK) spectrum authorities, USFK subordinates, and supporting Component Commands.
- Provide electromagnetic spectrum technical proposals to the ROK JCS and Korean Ministry of Science
- Perform interference analysis on all spectrum requests to identify and de-conflict potential frequency interference
- Identify, analyze, and provide guidance for resolving potential and actual spectrum conflicts, radio frequency interference and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
- Develop and maintain the Joint Communications Electromagnetic Operating Instruction
- Provide verbal and written translation of FM communications in English and Korean
- Maintain the Joint FM Office (JFMO) frequency records and database
- Log electromagnetic spectrum applications, official messages, DD-1494 host nation support requests, and other relevant correspondence in DoD host Nation Support World-Wide Database-Online (HNSWD-O) and the Automated Message Handling System (AMHS)
Qualifications:
- Experience in Spectrum Management
- Defense Language Institute (DLI) Qualification Level of 2/2/2 for Comprehension, Reading, and Speaking in Korean
- Experience working in a Joint Frequency Management Office (JFMO), Combatant Command (COCOM) Headquarters, or Military Services Component Spectrum Office
- Department of Defense (DoD) military frequency management school
- Inter-service Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) at Keesler AFB
- Advance Communications Course at Quantico, VA
- Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager Course at Ft. Gordon
