Strategic Solutions Unlimited, Inc. SSU is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Recruiter to support our talent acquisition efforts within the defense contracting industry. The recruiter will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring highly skilled professionals, including those with security clearances, to support Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. This role requires a deep understanding of federal contracting, compliance regulations, and the ability to manage full cycle recruiting for technical and non-technical positions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing for corporate and contract roles.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of cleared candidates for current and future needs.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and program managers to understand staffing needs and requirements.
- Utilize multiple sourcing strategies, including job boards, networking, social media, industry events, and referrals, to identify top talent.
- Ensure compliance with federal hiring regulations and company policies.
- Conduct initial candidate assessments, including reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, and verifying security clearance status.
- Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment databases.
- Support proposal efforts by identifying key personnel for future contracts and bids.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2 years of recruiting experience, preferably in defense, government contracting, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with security clearance requirements and recruiting cleared personnel.
- Strong knowledge of DoD contracts, federal compliance (OFCCP, EEO, etc.), and labor laws.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment platforms (really, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred:
- Experience recruiting for technical roles (cybersecurity, engineering, IT, intelligence, etc.).
- Understanding of government proposal recruiting and key personnel identification.
- Active security clearance (Secret or higher) is a plus.
