What are the responsibilities and job description for the T-6A Program Engineer position at Strategic Support Solutions?
We are looking for an experienced Program Engineer that is up to date on current commercial avionics technology and regulations and is passionate about military aviation. The Program Engineer will interface with engineering subcontractors to ensure program goals and requirements are being met.
At the corporate level, the Program Engineer is the primary focal point for all engineering and certification issues that may be encountered during the successful execution of task orders under the USAF T-6A Avionics Retrofit Program. The Program Engineer operates with full support from our corporate office. The corporate office provides project level support for Contract Management, Human Resources, Accounting, Payroll, Quality Control, Safety and Environmental, Training, and other reach-back capabilities. The Corporate Management Team will conduct regular meetings with the Program Engineer and all relevant departments to ensure the overall success of all aircraft modifications under this program.

REQUIREMENTS:
- University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience in avionics engineering and certification or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of experience.
- Experience managing FAA STC and Military Airworthiness projects
- Knowledge of FAA Part 145 repair station standards and operations
- Knowledge on new avionics equipment and installation
- Glass cockpit modernization knowledge required
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
- Ability to interface professionally with internal and external customers
- Familiar with AutoCAD and proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Required: Remote work with travel to attend major meetings and reviews
- Preferred: Onsite/relocate to Greenville.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Garmin G1000/3000/5000 installation experience
- FAA STC experience on FAA Part 23 turbine aircraft
- FAA PMA manufacturing experience
- Avionics experience on Textron aircraft
- Aircraft simulator manufacturing or modification experience
- Knowledge of aircraft life cycle management
- Familiar with Catia or other 3D modeling software
- Familiar with Digital Engineering tools and processes such as Authoritative Source of Truth, Product Life-cycle Management and Model Based Systems Engineering
- Work daily onsite in Greenville, SC
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for airworthiness activities
- Prepare and administer a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) that details the engineering processes, systems, organization and resources required to support the platforms listed in the contract.
- Co-lead meetings and design reviews with the Government to include SFR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, SVR, PRR, CSWG
- Attend bi-annual PMR
- Virtually attend Technical Interchange Meetings
- Interface regularly with key Subcontractors to include Airworthiness Certification, Engineering, Digital Engineering, and Technical Publications Updates
- Additional duties as requested
