Description

Our client is seeking a Controller to support its accounting and finance function. The Controller advises the President/CEO on financial matters to ensure the integrity of the Company’s financial status. This position provides accurate and timely accounting information to support effective and efficient use of Company resources. The Controller ensures that profits are maximized while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and supporting staff. The Controller provides financial analysis, planning, and budget control for the Company. This position advises on the profitability of the organization and works with the President, CEO to develop strategic and long-term financial goals. The Controller is responsible for regulatory compliance and reporting and carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. As the head of the Accounting Department, the Controller is responsible for Accounting staff including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Establish and monitor procedures to ensure proper internal controls and accuracy of financial reporting.

· Enforce Company policies regarding timekeeping, expense reports, vehicles rental, purchasing, project set-up, revenue recognition, and billing.

· Manage Accounting Department.

· Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, departments, Operations Managers, and Project Managers.

· Manage cash flow and bank relationships.

· Provide data as requested to senior management.

· Provide cash flow and tax projections.

· Responsible for preparing budget

· Work with property owners for offices on routine issues and lease renewals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: BS Accounting

Certification: CPA preferred

Prior experience working with an ESOP preferred

Experience: 10 years of progressive accounting or related experience and 5 years of Controller experience

Other: Experience in a professional service or consulting firm preferred

Experience with State and Federal revenue sources/contracts preferred

Management experience

Enterprise software experience

Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable MVR
