Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics)
Aircraft Mechanic II (Crew Chief)
The purpose of this contract is to support F-15E aircraft Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) 1F-15E-926 modifications.
Location: Mountain Home AFB, ID; 366 MXG
Active secret clearance is required.
Day shift: M-F 0600-1630
General functions to be performed are listed below:
Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines.
WAGE: $37.73
Additional Rate: Health and Welfare of $5.36 for each hour worked to be used for medical expenses/health benefits, any unused funds will roll over into a 401k at the end of the year.
Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics/Electrician)
Electrical Experience: Minimum of six years total experience in aircraft maintenance as an aircraft avionics/electrician with one year on F-15 aircraft. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. The Contractor shall also have the skill to identify and isolate integrated systems malfunctions and analyze performance and operate integrated avionics systems to determine operational condition per operational checks. Experience using specialized tools required for military aviation electrical connector assembly/disassembly and other associated electrical terminating devices is required. Aircraft modification and operational checks experience required.
Electrical Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, mechanical and indicator principles theory, and application relating to electrical systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; using and interpreting testing and measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Other: The Contractor shall have the ability and qualifications necessary to perform Embedded GPS/INS BIT and Operational Checkout as well as assist in F-15E aircraft jacking/de-jacking, aircraft hydraulic system bleeds, and hydraulic landing gear operational checks. Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
Aircraft Mechanic II (Crew Chief)
Crew Chief Experience: Minimum of six years total experience in aircraft maintenance as an aircraft crew chief with one year on F-15 aircraft. The contractor shall have the skill and qualifications to lead a team jacking and de-jacking F-15E Aircraft. The contractor shall have the skill and qualifications required to lead a team in bleeding hydraulic systems on F-15E Aircraft. The contractor shall have the skill and qualifications required to lead a team in performing hydraulic landing gear emergency operational checks on F-15E Aircraft. The contractor shall also have the skills necessary to assist the Level II A/E in electrical wiring and other tasks requiring two people.
