Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking a skilled Engineer to provide onsite technical support to the MARMC C290 Surface Combat Systems (Weapons) Division. This role will be integral to the Innovation Lab team, creating digital models of tools, test equipment, and other materials while assisting in workforce development and training. As an Engineer, you will help develop, design, and prototype cutting-edge systems in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create digital models for tools, test jigs, test equipment, and related 3D-printed materials.
- Provide technical assistance and training to MARMC personnel in digital modeling software.
- Operate 3D printers (Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Stereolithography (SLA)), 3D scanners, and various types of CAD software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS).
- Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) routers and desktop CNC mills (e.g., SHOPBOT, Bantam Othermill).
- Utilize typical shop tools such as band saws, hand drills, and other standard equipment.
- Support the development of CAD models and provide hands-on assistance to MARMC personnel.
- Teach basic modeling and fabrication skills to personnel in one-on-one and small classroom settings.
- Conduct outreach to promote MARMC’s Innovation Lab through demonstrations and other efforts.
- Research, prepare, and present reports and presentations to management.
- Collaborate with other team members and clients, ensuring effective communication and technical support across the department.
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience utilizing Additive and Subtractive manufacturing tools and software in a fast-prototyping environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in digital modeling software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with FDM and SLA 3D printers and CNC machinery.
- Knowledge of Computer-aided Design (CAD) modeling, including 3D scanning and printing technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance.
