Entry-Level Technical Writer / Proposal Assistant
Overview:
Support the development and preparation of technical documents and proposals. Assist with writing, editing, and organizing content for various projects under the guidance of senior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and edit basic technical content for proposals, reports, and project profiles.
Assist in updating and organizing project documentation and resumes.
Help maintain and improve existing project profiles.
Edit documents for clarity and consistency.
Support the proposal team in meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
Collaborate with team members to collect information and ensure accuracy.
Assist with website content updates as needed.
Communicate effectively with internal teams.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to learn new tools and processes.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with federal proposal requirements is a plus.
Experience with Adobe Acrobat is helpful.
Interest in aviation, engineering, logistics, or construction management is a bonus.

Basic Qualifications:
Two (2) years technical writing experience in programs and contracts of a similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government or Associate's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college. Two (2) years of technical writing experience may be substituted with an Associate's degree.
The Technical Writer shall be able to perform the following indicated tasks:
Understands basic concepts, responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity
Responsible for preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
Responsible for preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences
Works with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Federal proposal requirements preferred
- Knowledge of Aviation Maintenance, Logistics, engineering, construction management beneficial
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced skills with Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro software
