Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support Government operations in ensuring the quality and reliability of Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE). The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in engineering with courses in Quality Assurance (QA) practices and procedures, and a minimum of ten years' experience in a quality program such as ISO 9001, MIL-Q-9858, or MIL-I-45208A. This role requires specialized expertise in reading engineering drawings, Government drawing formats, Military Specifications, and welding procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for site setup, test operations, and reconfiguration of ALRE and SE systems.
- Design and fabricate test instrumentation to measure and verify system feasibility.
- Perform technical analysis, data acquisition, and documentation of test results.
- Conduct Engineering Investigations to assess equipment and material failures, identifying corrective actions.
- Review engineering documentation, ensuring completeness and recommending necessary revisions.
- Develop and utilize test fixtures and procedures to validate ALRE and SE subassemblies.
- Manufacture proof-of-principle, prototype, and production equipment, recommending design improvements.
- Support installation, improvement, and modification of ALRE and SE systems on aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships, and air-capable ships.
- Develop, qualify, and apply welding procedures, providing certification support.
- Assist with ISO-9001 compliance, including document management, audits, and updates to standard operating procedures.
- Conduct QA verification activities, including inspections and monitoring testing at vendor sites.
- Provide technical support for materials identification, procurement actions, and workflow optimization.
- Support J.E.D.I. system development, integration, and maintenance for production tracking.
- Coordinate with QA personnel and design engineers to resolve engineering inquiries and salvage actions.
- Perform facility-related engineering calculations, investigations, and project coordination for infrastructure improvements.
- Assist Government personnel in scheduling and monitoring renovations, repairs, and service calls.
- Education: Master’s degree in engineering with QA-related coursework. Bachelor’s degree in materials or mechanical engineering required.
- 10 years in a QA program such as ISO 9001, MIL-Q-9858, or MIL-I-45208A.
- 5 years of experience reading engineering drawings and familiarity with Government drawing formats, MPRs, and military specifications.
- 5 years of specialized experience in welding procedures and method selection (metallurgical sciences may be substituted).
- Strong understanding of ALRE and SE manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in engineering investigations, failure analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
- Familiarity with ISO-9001, QA documentation, and QA verification processes.
- Experience supporting Government contracts and technical manual reviews.
- Ability to travel to vendor locations for quality verification and inspections.
- Experience working in a military or DoD engineering environment.
- Knowledge of J.E.D.I. system for production workflow tracking.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
