Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the technical team supporting CBP’s P-3 AEW and LRT aircraft, DHC-8, and MEA systems.
- Provide technical support for avionics, radar, optical, and communication systems, ensuring system functionality and operational readiness.
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, ground station facilities, and avionics systems.
- Develop and deliver training documents and materials related to mission equipment, including air-to-air and air-to-surface radar systems, airborne communication systems, and tactical sensors.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise for system modifications, upgrades, software reprogramming, and engineering changes.
- Oversee the integration of satellite communication systems, specifically PSC-5D tactical satellite radios, to support AMO’s operational needs.
- Build and maintain a cohesive, efficient team, providing guidance and ensuring effective collaboration.
- Ensure all technical activities align with DHS/CBP policies and mission objectives.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
- Technical Education: Minimum of 2 years of technical education or training.
- Experience:
- At least 10 years of technical experience in avionics, radar, or communications systems (or equivalent military experience).
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical support for complex avionics systems, including radar, optical, and communication technologies.
- Proven expertise in providing technical leadership and training in systems and equipment used in military or law enforcement aviation operations.
- Strong working knowledge of airborne radar systems, air-to-air and air-to-surface communication technologies, and related mission equipment.
- Ability to develop and deliver training documentation and presentations.
- Excellent team-building and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with the CBP/AMO mission, aircraft, and systems such as P-3 AEW, LRT, DHC-8, and MEA aircraft.
- Experience supporting military or federal government agencies, particularly in air and marine operations or similar defense operations.
