What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Supervisor for Supported Living Services position at Strategies to Empower People?
Strategies to Empower People is looking to hire a full-time Case Supervisor for Supported Living Services! This position works directly with the Intellectually and/or Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) adults our agency serves and provides ongoing supervision, training, and development for the direct support staff that work with our clients in the Yuba and Placer County areas!
Do you want to work for a company that is constantly growing new programs to support people with disabilities? Do you excel at working in the field, face-to-face with staff and clients, instead of sitting behind a desk all day? Do you consider the success of others to be your successes as well? Then keep reading!
WHO ARE WE?
Strategies to Empower People is a 100% employee-owned company that operates in the Greater Sacramento area, Yuba/Sutter/Placer counties, and North Bay region! We have been providing services to adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) since 1994 and are the largest provider of our type in the area!
We believe that every moment has potential, and we work tirelessly to ensure the people we serve are given every opportunity to be as independent as possible in their homes and in their communities. No two people we serve are alike so we are looking for employees who are adaptive, creative, and who thrive on the success of others!
WHAT IS THE JOB?
The Case Supervisor is responsible for providing support for a caseload of clients as well as providing supervision and training for the staff that work with those clients. This position is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to developing and implementing various plans for the disabled adults our agency supports - the Case Supervisor works closely with the clients and their staff to meet goals, celebrate successes, and maintain connections in their communities.
The people we support live in their own homes, in their own communities, and it is our responsibility to make sure they can live as independently as possible!
The Case Supervisor will also be responsible for meeting numerous administrative requirements, such as documentation, auditing, training, and more. However this is NOT an office position! The goal is for the Case Supervisor to spend 75% of their time face-to-face with the clients we serve, and 25% meeting administrative requirements.
This position works closely and directly with the I/DD population in the field - if you love people, and you love forging lasting relationships, this is the job for you!
SCHEDULE
The Case Supervisor position is a salaried exempt role which is on-call Monday through Friday and shares a rotating on-call weekend with the other members of the supervisory team (potentially one weekend a month).
Please note that this is not a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. position! The Case Supervisor is the first point of contact for field staff and needs to be a constant and accessible resource for our clients and our staff during the work week! When all else fails, the Case Supervisor is there to support our clients!
The rate of pay for this position is $33 per hour, which transitions to salaried at $68,640 annually following an initial training period.
LOCATION
This position operates out of our Roseville office location, which is located at 730 Sunrise Avenue, Ste. 200, Roseville, 95661.
This is not an office-only position! The expectation for the Case Supervisor is to be in the field and available to support our clients in the Yuba and Placer County areas, including being available to attend meetings and trainings at our Central Sacramento location (2330 Glendale Lane Sacramento, CA 95825) if required.
This job spends a lot of time in the homes of the people we support!
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The Case Supervisor is a position that requires both experience supervising other individuals as well as having extensive experience working in the Human Services field!
This role requires at least two (2) years experience working with individuals who have Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD population). A solid understanding of this population and its needs is a HUGE requirement - you need to understand and respect the population we serve!
This position also requires at least one (1) year of supervisory and budgetary/finance experience. This means supervising staff, NOT supervising individuals with disabilities! (Two years experience providing In-Home Support Services is NOT considered supervision!)
And last but not least: COMPUTER AND DRIVING SKILLS! Like any job we require the use of standard electronics, computer and database systems. We provide training on the platforms we use, so aptitude with using different systems is necessary for success as well as maintaining professional communication both verbal and written/typed.
Being a licensed and insured driver is necessary for this role, which includes having a clean driving record (no excessive points, and no DUIs/wet-and-reckless in the past 10 years). We provide mileage reimbursement at a rate of $.70 per mile.
WHY WORK HERE?
Aside from being a 100% employee owned company, Strategies to Empower People has a lot of additional benefits for our employees!
Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and additional benefits after a requisite waiting period. Full-time employees can also begin accruing paid vacation time after a six-month waiting period! Interested in planning for retirement? We have a matching 401k plan for employees! We also provide mileage reimbursement ($.685 per mile), an Employee Assistance Program, sick time accrual, and more!
