Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition SummaryStrategix Management, LLC is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor in Tobacco Control to support Federal clients within the National Cancer Institute. The Senior Technical Advisor shall have knowledge of public health principles and experience in scientific research methods and dissemination. Knowledge of tobacco control science and practice and behavioral research is required. The employee provides expert guidance and technical oversight on Federal tobacco control research, including evidence-based tobacco control policies, monitoring trends in tobacco use, and supporting Federal grant programs. Candidates shall have strong writing and analytic skills and be able to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively. They must have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®. Experience with reference management software (e.g., EndNote), biomedical abstract databases (e.g., PubMed), and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS) is strongly encouraged. Essential FunctionTechnical Leadership and Advisory Provide expert technical leadership on tobacco control strategies, policies, and interventions. Advise government agencies on best practices. Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in tobacco use. Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Support and lead research initiatives to better understand tobacco use trends, behaviors, and the impact of tobacco control policies. Analyze data from tobacco-related programs, preparing technical reports and publications to share findings with stakeholders and Federal partners. Conducts literature reviews and assists with other research projects as requested. Capacity Building Mentor and build the capacity of junior staff and partners involved in tobacco control programs. Support Federal grant programs as designated by the client. Other duties as assigned RequirementsQualifications and Experience Minimum : Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in public health, health communications, health policy, or a related field. At least 5-7 years of relevant contracting or government experience; work related to tobacco control is required.Extensive knowledge of tobacco control policies, tobacco use and its health impacts, and interventions to reduce tobacco use. Experience planning, managing, and writing high-level scientific publications with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences. Strong data analysis skills.
