Job Overview
The Data Analyst position with Strategy Management in Montgomery, AL supports a political consulting team by managing, analyzing, and presenting political data to team members and clients. Key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, conducting research, analyzing datasets, and compiling and creating comprehensive reports to communicate findings based on the needs of the client or by direction of other team members.
Duties
- Data collection: Gather and collect data and information from various sources by conducting and tracking public opinion surveys, responsive identification, and other means of collection.
- Data analysis: Use statistical analysis to interpret research findings. Assist in forecasting and modeling for political, social, and election-related trends.
- Cooperation: Work with/through others to obtain and present information needed to pull together project specific materials and/or presentations.
- Data visualization and reporting: Create charts, graphs, dashboards, and/or other visual ways of presenting data in clean and easy to understand methods, as well as draft internal and public facing memorandums to communicate findings with our team, our clients, or other interested parties.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Outstanding writing skills and ability to report on research findings clearly
- Ability to stay up to date with current news, political trends, and political campaigns
- Proficiency with extracting, analyzing, and reporting data from various intelligence systems, and from external data sources at the local, state or federal levels of government.
- Ability to analyze and process private or proprietary information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization to design, enhance, and develop aesthetically pleasing visualizations, which may include, but not limited to, interactive dashboards, scorecards and reports.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and various Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work in-office in Montgomery, AL. M-F 9-5.
- Prior experience as a data analyst or similar positions.
- Interest in working in politics, public affairs, and/or public relations.
- Experience with statistical analysis software and qualitative research tools such as datawrapper, tableau, SQL, etc.
- Degree holding or currently studying in a related field, such as computer science, statistics, or similar. Degrees or study focus in political science also acceptable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
