What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Setter Day Shift Injection Molding position at Strategy Plastics, LLC?
Overview
As a Plastic Injection Molding Mold Setter, you will play a crucial role in setting molds, hooking up all necessary lines (such as water), and any additional setup before the process technician takes over. The ideal candidate will ensure that we are optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and quality in production operations.
Duties
- Ensure proper installation of molds into plastic injection equipment.
- Ensure all nozzles, hoses are correct for the tool, and accurately installed.
- Operate basic injection molding press functions such as opening/closing molds and purging material
- Load correct program into the machine for the tool.
- Perform first piece approval and adjust as necessary to ensure parts meet all quality standards.
- Wipe down all tools and equipment routinely.
- Maintain awareness of other workers within your work area to ensure they are safe from potential hazards.
- Inspect/operate fork truck and crane system with safety as the first priority.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and ensure everything is in its place, uphold 5S.
- Perform setup, breakdown, and proper storage of auxiliary equipment.
- Store all tooling safely, in the proper location, and in a manner that protects them from damage.
- Perform Material Handler duties as needed.
- Able to clean Hoppers, Grinders & Dryers as needed.
- Work both as a press operator and assembler as needed.
- Must be mature, detail-oriented and safety-driven individual who works well in a team and self-propelled setting.
- Collaborate with production to improve processes and implement solutions.
- Actively communicate and monitor priorities and results.
- Support quality inspectors and operators to ensure products are in compliance with internal and external customer standards.
-Assist manufacturing by giving breaks to molding and machine operators.
-Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 lbs. & torque up to 210 foot pounds consecutive or multiple times a day during a 12 hr. shift. Able to manipulate tools with both hands. Must be able to stand on feet for 12 hours.
- High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of three years relevant experience as an Injection Molding Mold Setter.
- Screening Requirements – background check.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and precision in work.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to analyze data and problem-solve effectively.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and plastic injection molding equipment operation.
- Language Skills: Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to multitask, work well with others in a team environment and independently is essential.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
