Job Title: Consolidated Map of NYC Project Manager
Labor Category: Project Manager 2
Work Schedule: Normal business hours Monday through Friday. 35 hours/week (not including mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours of work).
Location: 2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
Rate: $50 per hour
Job Description / Justification:
We are looking for project to create a single digital hub for families to learn about their child care options and find childcare for their children aged 5 and below. The hub will also support child care providers by sharing information on how to begin and continue providing child care services to New Yorkers . The hub will include relevant content as well as a detailed screening process for parents, referrals section, information about available childcare services, and a unified map/provider services locator of child care providers.
The Project Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of the project working with internal and external stakeholders. .
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The project manager will organize, plan, and track workstreams for Consolidated Map of NYC Childcare Programs.
TASKS:
- Lead the Child Care Consolidated Map of NYC project from project initiation to completion.
- Lead inter-agency collaboration focused projects, working with multiple City/State/Federal entities and apply Child Care / Early Childhood Education knowledge.
- Develop project scope, design program approach, identify key data metrics, implement cadence for ongoing monitoring for project health and identify projects at risk.
- Manage project by applying project management best practice methodology.
- Perform business analysis for project components. Secure support from stakeholders and sign-off of the requirements.
- Coordinate project’s inter-dependences mange internal and external project teams for successful project delivery.
- Develop work plans for the overall program, schedule, track project estimates and resource allocation, report on program status and ensure adherence to requirements and standards.
- Program managers must have strong knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques.
- Perform budgeting and resource planning and find innovative ways to resolve issues.
- Seek opportunities for process improvement by applying data-centric approach and industry best practices.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered
- · Minimum 5-4 years of demonstrated experience in Program Management or Project Management; capacity with demonstrated success at delivering large scale projects.
- · Demonstrated experiences in a leadership role in Child Care or Early Childhood Education programs; New York City or New York State programs preferred.
- · Demonstrated in depth knowledge with New York City and/or New York State Child Care and Early Childhood Education regulations and local laws.
- · Demonstrated leadership experiences in inter-agency collaboration focused projects, working with multiple City/State/Federal entities.
- Ability to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project.
- Proven ability to work independently and to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced experience using standard project tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing budgets and resources.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to coach stakeholders in agile ways of working for project Management.
- Understanding of common project management tooling such as MS Project, Airtable, Azure, Jira, etc.
