Under the supervision of the Principal, the successful candidate works to support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academical well-being. A counselor who is kind, compassionate, energetic, and enthusiastic will find Wallingford-Swarthmore to be a great professional haven.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement counseling program for 6th grade students
- Monitor student achievement and recommend interventions as needed
- Facilitate communication between and among parents, students, teachers, and school staff
- Help students experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems through guidance and counseling
- Assist with administrative academic scheduling and support responsibilities
- Maintain records
- Work as part of a grade-level team
- Other related duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II School Counselor certificate
- Prior experience preferred
