What are the responsibilities and job description for the AM Preschool Aide position at Strathmore Union Elementary?
This part-time position works as an afternoon instructional aide at Strathmore State Preschool for 3.5 hours every day, Monday-Friday. Tentative Schedule: 8:15 am - 11:45 am
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: Must have an AA, 48 units of college credits, or pass the Instructional Aide Assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics.
2. Certification: Possession of a valid First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate may be required based on job duties such as coaching, working with fragile students, or as otherwise required by Superintendent or designee.
3. Experience: Experience working with preschool age children preferred.
4. Training: Ongoing training (e.g. Mandated Reporter, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, suicide prevention, etc.) as required by federal or state law, board policy and/or as directed by the Superintendent.
5. Immunizations: Must provide proof of immunizations as required by state law including influenza, pertussis and measles unless qualified for an exemption as well as demonstrate fitness for the work through a physician’s note as required by state law.
6. Personal Qualifications: Better than average recommendations from professionals who have observed the personal characteristics and work habits of the individual.
7. Communication: Ability to read and write in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
