General Superintendent
Straticon Construction is seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Superintendent to join our team in South Florida. This leadership role will oversee all aspects of field operations across multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will embody Straticon’s commitment to excellence and bring extensive experience managing commercial and multi-family ground-up and renovation projects valued at $50-$150 million.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, including scopes, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Establish and maintain construction schedules, ensuring timely material deliveries, subcontractor coordination, and milestone achievement.
- Oversee field construction processes, ensuring adherence to contract documents, specifications, and quality standards.
- Provide strong leadership to a team of superintendents, foremen, and field staff, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Conduct daily and weekly meetings with superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams to review progress, address issues, and align on priorities.
- Mentor and develop team members to uphold Straticon’s values and maintain high performance levels.
- Implement and enforce Straticon’s Safety Program, ensuring OSHA compliance and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard analyses, and toolbox talks to mitigate risks and maintain a safe work environment.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, documenting and resolving issues impacting schedule, budget, or quality.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors’ scopes of work, ensuring alignment with project schedules and quality expectations.
- Develop and implement site utilization plans, including temporary utilities, security, and material handling logistics.
- Verify the accuracy of plans and specifications, identifying discrepancies and coordinating corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Experience: 10-15 years of progressive responsibility in commercial construction, with extensive experience as a primary superintendent on large-scale projects ($50-150 million).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software, including CMiC, Procore, or equivalent systems.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage diverse teams across multiple projects.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, architects, and project teams.
- Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and loss control measures.
