What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onboarding Relationship Manager position at STRATOS?
The Onboarding Relationship Manager will work with newly onboarded advisors to transition their business from various custodians to the Stratos platform. They will also communicate with the new advisor every step of the way as their main point of contact. In some scenarios, will be required to travel to new office locations to help open, supply and organize the new branch as well as orient/train the advisors and their staff on operational policies and procedures. In addition, the Onboarding Relationship Manager will play a large role in the structure of transitions. This includes documenting procedures, maintaining training resources including advisor facing collateral material, and making sure our processes are efficient.
The Onboarding Relationship Manager will help to oversee the onboarding process working with new advisors in the mid to upper tiers of complexity and size and will report directly to the Director of Onboarding.
Job Responsibilities
• Act as the main point of contact for all aspects of an advisor’s onboarding.
• Maintain agenda, follow-up notes, and communication as part of the project plan.
• Ensure all items required to onboard an advisor have been completed prior to the advisors join date.
• Provide the most efficient & timely method based on the chosen custodian to open client new accounts and transfer assets.
• Help new advisors get up to speed on internal processes, new software, and working with business partners.
• Daily follow up on all new accounts, transfers, and remaining outstanding items. Ensure any not in good order items have been resolved in a timely fashion.
• Collaborate with other departments within Stratos to ensure onboarding success.
• Develop and maintain onboarding process documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Maintain tracking sheet for each transition to ensure all accounts are opened and outstanding items are being addressed.
Skills and Required Competencies
• BA/BS Degree required; equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Series 7 and 66 license preferred. If not held, willing to obtain these licenses.
• 8 years’ experience in Financial Services
• Experience in transitioning advisors from one custodian to another, preferred.
• Familiarity with LPL, Schwab, and Fidelity is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience with financial services industry terminology and regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure
