SUMMARY
The Metrology Supervisor will bring technical leadership and GD&T knowledge to the metrology lab. This associate will manage the layout schedule, gage calibration database, and supervise the technical needs for the team of layout and calibration technicians on daily assignments. The Metrology Supervisor will make sure that the various set ups and programs for the CMM and other equipment are properly done following guidelines of the most current GD&T rules. This role will be a technical leader in our organization by leading in creating strategy, identifying opportunities, establishing collaborative environments, prioritizing & planning activity, measuring results and communicating & rewarding the successes. It will require working closely across multiple teams to provide cost effective solutions that are designed for manufacturing at a world class level.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise layout technicians with set ups, programs, and execution of scheduled jobs
- Supervise calibration technicians and manage gage calibration system
- Act as a GD&T subject matter expert for training and GD&T uncertainty
- Provide expert product design recommendations and feedback for new and existing components suitable for manufacturing consistently at world class performance levels
- Ensure proper documentation, related standards, and procedures are met
- Manage capacity of capital equipment to support the manufacturing operation
- Manage maintenance of existing equipment
- Identify and implement advances in lab measurement equipment and methods
- Develop resource plans for technicians and equipment
- Budget for lab expenses, annual maintenance and overtime costs
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Identify skill opportunities for each Technician and work on developing those skills by setting up training
- Fill in to perform capability analysis when required
- Validation and review of final dimensional reports
- Organize and save approved programs to run lab effectively and efficiently
- Document and distribute lessons learned to the organization.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will have supervisory responsibilities for salary associates which would include interviewing, training, creating challenging objectives, planning/prioritizing work, appraising performance, providing constructive feedback, development planning, succession planning, and working with human resources to address all disciplinary/associate issues as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 year Associates degree
- Operational knowledge of CMM (Ziess / Calypso) and laser scanning equipment (GOM)
- GD&T-Proficient working knowledge of GD&T
- Data Driven Decision Maker - Efficiently collect, analyze and present data in a clear & concise format, interpret data analysis and provide insightful recommended solutions.
- Influencer - Ability to influence thru communication skill, data analysis & insightful presentation.
- The ability to manage projects and work in a team project environment is required.
- Experience with CREO/PRO-E software is a plus.
