Unique and forward-thinking not-for-profit, non-denominational health system seeks OBGYN Providers to join their dedicated team. This 460-bed acute care teaching hospital provides care for an urban "safety net" population in NYC. Join a Health System that unfailingly receives high patient satisfaction scores, particularly in women’s health services. This position will offer strong mentorship and support from a department that includes 14 full-time OBGYNs, part-time MFMs (with 24 / 7 coverage), a part-time GYN Oncologist, and 8 experienced midwives and / or mid-level clinicians. They do tubal ligation and prescribe all types of contraception. They have a very high rate of postpartum LARC including post-placental IUDs and Nexplanon. They do early elective MVA and medical terminations as well as medically indicated (and other select situations) D&E in the hospital.
The traditional schedule for a physician includes four clinical weekdays per week. One day every other week covering in-house patients, consults, and labor and delivery along with a midwife, one day every other week for protected OR time, shared with one or two other attendings and the other days include ambulatory care and / or administrative time. Each month physicians take three in-house weekday overnight calls (with a post-call day off) and one weekend 24-hour shift so 4 total per month. This hospital is proudly joined by CUNY medical students and rotating OBGYN residents. This model provides logistical support to both clinical staff and patients, as well as educational opportunities and academic inspiration, while also protecting the attendings’ opportunity to fully manage a broad spectrum of surgical opportunities. They do not have robotics but do have an innovative handpiece that allows for the same degrees of rotation as the robot without the complexity of docking. This outstanding opportunity offers a generous compensation package that includes, Individual or family health insurance policy choices, a 401K pension plan; with a 3% safe harbor, a 1% employer match for employee contributions, term life insurance, optional participation in a group long term disability plan, Occurrence malpractice, 20 days’ vacation & 4 elective days per year (based on a 4-day work week), as well as 5 CME days per year with stipend (also based on a 4- day work week). Located on a beautiful nine-acre campus in the heart of New York City, very close to NYC’s Arthur Avenue with its famous delicatessens and restaurants. Additional call sessions are often available with supplemental compensation of $22,500 for one extra call monthly.
