The Infant Head Teacher must be able to provide excellent guest service by encouraging engagement among all children in the classroom, and continuously communicating with parents / guardians about their child's experience during that given day. The Infant Head Teacher is responsible for observing and documenting children's development as well as creating developmentally appropriate curriculum. Teachers must maintain the facility in a healthy and safe working order, while observing all state mandated regulations. This is a full-time year-round, benefit eligible position. Starting wage for this position is $24.00 / hour.ESSENTIAL DUTIESBuild relationships with children and families through daily interactionsEnsure age appropriate activities and schedules are followed in your classroomAssure all infants needs are met and documented through the dayObserve and assess infants development over timeDevelop and implement age appropriate curriculumMaintain a cooperative and supportive attitude with other staff membersBe knowledgeable of the state child care rules and regulations and follow as outlinedAttend monthly meetings with Childcare ManagerComplete annual professional developmentPerform administrative tasks as neededTrain and ensure all childcare staff knows emergency policies and proceduresParticipate and assist in, coordination of emergency proceduresOther duties as assignedEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education : High School Diploma, or equivalent requiredChild Development Associate (CDA) Certificate, or Vermont Career Ladder III, requiredBachelor or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or 21 College credits in a related fieldExperience : At least 1 year experience working in a licensed child care centerExperience with caring for infantsQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTSMust be 20 years of age, or olderMust meet or exceed Vermont Standards for a Teacher Associate or higherFirst Aid & CPR certificationStrong communication skills, written and verbalPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSMust be able to lift 40 pounds, on a regular and repeating basisMust be able to handle high noise levels and stressful environmentsThis position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
