Stratus is growing! We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team!
Project Financial Management :
Project setup and maintenance utilizing Deltek Vision ERP software ensuring accurate data entry and reporting. Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing in compliance with contract terms. Work with Project Managers to develop and maintain project budgets. Track and monitor project costs, ensuring that all expenses align with the approved budgets. Prepare and analyze project cost reports and financial forecasts. Accounting and Reporting :
Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing in compliance with contract terms and internal policies. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for projects. Conduct regular project financial reviews with project managers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations. Collaboration and Communication :
Work closely with project managers to track project progress and financial performance. Communicate financial status and issues to project managers and senior management. Provide financial guidance and support to project teams. Liaise with clients regarding project billing, payment status, and financial matters. Audit and Compliance :
Support internal and external audit processes related to project financials. Ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements, as well as internal controls. Assist in the preparation of reports for audits and ensure accurate and timely documentation for review. Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of project accounting experience, preferably in the engineering, architecture, or construction (AEC) industry. Knowledge of various project contracts (fixed-price, time-and-material, cost-plus) and related financial management practices. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, Deltek) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel). Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
