Stratus is growing! We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team!
Project Financial Management:
- Project setup and maintenance utilizing Deltek Vision ERP software ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing in compliance with contract terms.
- Work with Project Managers to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Track and monitor project costs, ensuring that all expenses align with the approved budgets.
- Prepare and analyze project cost reports and financial forecasts.
Accounting and Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing in compliance with contract terms and internal policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for projects. • Conduct regular project financial reviews with project managers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers to track project progress and financial performance.
- Communicate financial status and issues to project managers and senior management.
- Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.
- Liaise with clients regarding project billing, payment status, and financial matters.
Audit and Compliance:
- Support internal and external audit processes related to project financials.
- Ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements, as well as internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for audits and ensure accurate and timely documentation for review.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of project accounting experience, preferably in the engineering, architecture, or construction (AEC) industry.
- Knowledge of various project contracts (fixed-price, time-and-material, cost-plus) and related financial management practices.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, Deltek) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
