Job Summary:
The Senior Water Stream Restoration/Water Resources Engineer will lead and support stream restoration and water resource projects, applying expertise in natural channel design and hydraulic modeling. This role involves conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, preparing regulatory documentation, and utilizing engineering software to develop project solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency and a background in Rosgen stream restoration techniques.
Primary Essential Functions:
- Design and oversee stream restoration projects using Natural Channel Design principles.
- Perform hydraulic stream modeling, including no-rise certifications, Conditional Letters of Map Revision (CLOMRs), and Letters of Map Revision (LOMRs).
- Utilize Civil 3D and HEC-RAS for design and analysis.
- Conduct field assessments and develop restoration strategies based on Rosgen Level 1-4 training.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies for permitting and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, design plans, and project documentation.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in water resources engineering and stream restoration.
- Completion of Rosgen Stream Restoration Natural Channel Design Training Levels 1-4.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and HEC-RAS.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for regulatory compliance.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
