Manager on Duty Responsibilities
The Manager on Duty handles the day-to-day responsibilities of the Store Manager while that individual is not present in the store. A successful Manager on Duty is efficient and detail-oriented with a focus on customer satisfaction. Other qualities include organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of customer service.
1. Manage operations of the store driving sales by delivering superior customer service.
2. Listen, respond and effectively resolve customer’s questions and concerns giving undivided attention and care.
3. Direct and coordinate staff through delegation of tasks, teamwork and leading by example.
4. Manage customer centric workforce holding staff accountable for their performance as well as their actions.
5. Responsible for deposits and overall cash handling of the store.
6. Maintain clean and organized store ensuring store and merchandising is well stocked.
7. Ensure a safe, secure and legal work environment.
8. Work smart and take initiative.
9. Model and uphold the company’s core values of excellence, trust, accountability, care and fun.
- 3 years experience managing a retail environment.
- Knowledgeable working with Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
- Excellent communication skills, outgoing personality.
- Knowledge of basic math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs working in cooler/freezer storage areas including required overhead and lower shelf reaching, bending and stooping moving 50 lbs.
- Read, write and understand English.
- Standing work on tile or concrete for duration of shift.
- Able to operate computer to ring out customers.
