POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating purchasing and inbound freight activities for Straumann Group North America, working with internal and external vendors to ensure correct functioning of the ERP system and quick resolution of issues preventing proper material flow. The coordinator will also work on improving our operations and perform analyses to highlight potential areas of improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Purchasing and inventory management:
- Owns material master data, proposes and maintains standards across the portfolio and performs routine clean-up
- Maintains list of vendors, current contact information, pricing, and key vendor information
- Supports North America Digital and Dental portfolios with new product introductions, substitutions, and phase-out management
- Coordinates replenishment orders for the distribution warehouse with both intercompany and third-party suppliers through the analysis of supply and demand via inventory management systems
- Coordinates and prioritizes inbound shipments, as well as shipment tracking and works with freight carriers to determine cause of delay and expedite resolution
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external vendors
- Advocates for the interests of the business with internal and external vendors
- Issues purchase orders to third party suppliers based on the forecast and needs of the business.
- Follows up on past due and unconfirmed deliveries with suppliers, maintains SAP up to date to ensure accuracy of data
- Works with internal stakeholders (warehouse, product management) and vendors to resolve issues that prevent the timely flow of materials
- Monitors and maintains relevant MRP-settings, sets up new materials and performs routine data clean-up and maintenance.
- Works with customer service and product managers on stock situation requests, optimal fulfillment of large orders
- Measures customer service level and investigates missed deliveries.
- Works closely with warehouse staff on the goods receipt process and additional NPI storage/distribution needs to ensure new materials can successfully be received into the warehouse
- Works with warehouse staff to clear receipt or on hold issues in a timely manner
- In collaboration with warehouse staff, clears up past due shipments and purchase orders in SAP
- Executes and communicates standard logistics KPI’s to the Supply Chain Manager and proposes improvements in current ways of working
- Submit ideas through Straumann EPIC portal to act on improvements in real time
- Performs various types of analyses to support the continuous improvement of supply chain activities, reduce waste, and streamline workflows.
- Ad hoc projects as required to support various departments from an inventory standpoint, or within the logistics function.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES (If Applicable)
- Warehouse environment with some light lifting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field OR 4 years of working experience in a supply chain role
- 1 years of experience in SAP inventory management and purchasing
- 1 years of experience with Excel and Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working with PowerBi
- Prior experience in health tech, healthcare, or medical device industry
- International shipping/receiving experience
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Self-starter, results oriented attitude
- Prioritize and execute the plan to meet deadlines.
