Availability required: Tuesday - Friday 5:30am - 2:00pm, Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm
JOB OVERVIEW: The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of perishable dairy products. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing inventory, and leading a team to maintain a safe and productive work environment, executing consistent quality standards and operating procedures which maximize profitability and guarantee the achievement of Company quality goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist Warehouse Leadership in ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of customer orders and the receiving of product from various suppliers by reviewing purchase orders (PO), bills of lading (BOL), and work orders (WO)
- Coordinate and assist with loading and unloading of trucks for all deliveries and shipments
- Ensure accuracy of product transfers between locations at time of shipment
- Conduct frequent partial physical inventory audits to verify accuracy of records
- Inspects work in progress and work completed, verifying for accuracy, to ensure conformance to all established quality specifications
- Assist and participate in maintenance of the cycle count program and accurate inventory of finished goods
- Effectively communicates continuing events to peer supervisors/team and/or following shift team
- Ensures that pertinent data reporting is completed a timely manner – FG posting in business central, FG counts on spreadsheets, and other data, as required or requested
- Protect the finished goods inventory of the Company against product loss and shrinkage
- Complete required data entry reports
- Acts as reliever for regular functions of warehouse assistants in the event of short staffing
Training & Development/Safety
- Facilitates training and development of warehouse team members - temps or direct hires - leading with a positive disposition and personal high-quality work ethic that both motivates team and ensures their high performance and adherence to safety standards
- Ensure dock, warehouse, equipment, shipping and receiving areas, and refrigerated and freezer areas are kept clean and free of hazards and working properly, reporting any issues immediately to Safety Manager or other member of management
- Monitors employee performance and all compliance related to rest and meal/lunch periods
- Provides input and/or makes recommendations for promotions, transfers, performance and evaluation discussions, and disciplinary action
- Assists with the proactive communication and enforcement of safety rules to all team members, and other Company employees that may be visiting in the area, to help foster a companywide culture of safety
- Must work in a safe manner and comply with all health, safety, security and emergency requirements that are communicated to you, whether established by your manager, by the company or by law and ensure direct reports are complying with safety directives
General Functions
- Ensure all warehouse procedures and SOP/standards are adhered to in day-to-day assigned operations
- Complies with all Company policies communicated to you through your Employee Manual, trainings, notice boards or other postings, or by a member of management and effectively and consistently assists with the communication, training, and enforcement of these
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and any/all established processes, whether established by their manager, by the company or by law as well as assists with the communication, training, and enforcement of these as they pertain to teams you are leading
- Upholds Company values and ensures communication to and adherence by all warehouse team members
- Communicate companywide sustainability goals to warehouse and logistics teams and manages resources to ensure work is produced in the most sustainable manner
- Maintain excellent attendance and work ethic
- Other duties as requested
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or some college certifications, preferred but not required
- 2 years previous leadership experience, required - preferably in a food/dairy manufacturing,
- Proficient familiarity with and use of smart technology, RedZone experience a plus
- Basic business math to verify accurate counting/tracking of inventories and be able to convert measurements
- Troubleshooting skills and ability to calmly respond to warehouse equipment or other problems and find solutions
- Basic knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Navision ERP, and HRIS software programs, preferred
- Fluent proficient English, required. Spanish/Bilingual, preferred but not required
- Schedule flexibility to work OT/different shifts as business needs arise
- This is a leadership position. Flexibility to work different shifts when required and to work weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Work in a manufacturing/distribution/warehouse environment
- Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and stooping, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. – Repetitive at times
- Occasional periods of sitting, turning the head and torso, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. – Repetitive at times
- Visual, audio, and vocal senses are required
- Occasional work on a computer and or tablet and looking at the computer/tablet screen
- The ability to climb and balance is essential
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Working in cold, wet, humid environments
- Ability to work in high allergen environments
- Ability to work in temperature ranges from -20° to 100° degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing machinery up to 90 decibels
- Ability to lift, hold and/or carry up to 55 pounds of product, unassisted
