Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting, supporting physicians and healthcare providers in delivering high-quality medical services. This position requires a strong understanding of various medical specialties, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine, or similar environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in the outpatient setting.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for and assisting in minor in office procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Support the coordination of patient care activities, including scheduling appointments and managing referrals.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Experience
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification from an accredited Phlebotom Technician I (CPT-1) program is required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with outpatient care settings and knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
- Experience working within various specialties such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Types: Part-time, PRN, Per diem
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
