Who we are
Strawberry Hill Animal Hospital is looking for a part-time or full-time Kennel Attendant to join our team and provide excellent care for the dogs boarding in our kennel. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the kennel, providing food and water to the animals, monitoring their health, bathing, and providing exercise. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about animal care and has a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have experience working with animals in a professional setting.
Responsibilities:
- Feed and water animals according to instructions.
- Clean and maintain kennels, cages, and other areas of the facility.
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the supervisor.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Provide basic grooming services such as brushing and bathing.
- Ensure that all animals are properly identified with neck tags.
- Interact with pet owners when called to take in or release a dog.
Experience:
- Knowledge of basic dog care practices and handling
- Some customer service skills for interacting with pet owners
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices is a plus
- Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary
- Experience in pet sitting or dog training is beneficial
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
