We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a desire to provide excellent service to our furry friends. Let's get real. Working in an animal shelter is hard work. You'll spend most of your day scooping poop, washing dishes, and doing laundry. We are looking for someone who truly loves animals and who will provide care for them while they wait for their forever homes. This job can be fast-paced and physically challenging (must be able to lift 50lbs) and will include indoor and outdoor work. Individuals should be self-motivated, and dependability and reliable transportation is a must. Attention to detail, great work ethic and time management are highly prized skills as well.
We specifically need Kennel Technicians for two shifts: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and 3:00pm – 8:00pm It will be roughly 15-25 hours per week. Weekend and some holiday shifts may be required.
Duties include, but not limited to: cleaning and disinfecting interior animal kennels and all food and water bowls, cleaning litter boxes, laundry, cleaning outdoor areas. This position conducts proper cleaning and disinfecting of all rooms and kennels to provide a healthy environment for the animals in our care. Volunteers are invited to join us at our facility for animal care and enrichment, so this position will also need to be able to work well not only with staff members, but also with volunteers of all ages and backgrounds/skill sets and have strong communication skills.
