The Straz Center is seeking a Master Electrician to join our production team. The Master Electrician, in collaboration with and under the general direction of the Senior Director of Production Services, is responsible for lighting production for all shows and events; including, but not limited to, maintenance and repair of all equipment related to electrics; supervising crews in assembly and focus of lighting as specified by the Lighting Director; supervising and operating all performances of productions; attending tech/dress rehearsals and specified production meetings; and advancing and working with all traveling electrics technicians.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of all stage electrical equipment; including but not limited to, control consoles, dimmers, and lighting instruments.
- Serves as Electrics HOD/Master Electrician for all performances in the Morsani Hall and Ferguson Hall.
- Supervises & trains additional electricians as needed for shows.
- Serves as liaison between lighting designers, visiting production electricians, and the Center. Shall include Center Produced shows, traveling shows, and local rental clients.
- Oversees and is responsible for overhead rigging of electrical equipment.
- Maintains a safe, healthy, and clean work/shop environment.
- Performs other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work long hours and work with a flexible schedule.
- Working knowledge/understanding of the principals of lighting, lighting technology, electricity, and design, in addition to other aspects as they relate to the overall theatre production process.
- Familiar with ETC EOS family lighting consoles, both programming and trouble shooting.
- Thorough knowledge of basic electricity and electrical wiring.
- Excellent CAD drafting skills.
- Must have valid Florida Driver License.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in technical theatre field or 5 years of experience as a head or assistant head electrician at a major performing arts center, large scale touring show or other professional performing arts institution.

- Must be willing to work at heights, around moving machinery, and with exposure to noise, vibration, and dust.
- Ability to work safely in an environment containing potentially hazardous electrical equipment, fumes, and/or materials.
