The Straz Center for the Performing Arts, located along the beautiful Riverwalk in downtown Tampa, Florida, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the southeastern United States. The Straz boasts one of the nation's leading Broadway series and is nationally respected for producing grand opera, as well as presenting a wide variety of concerts, performances and events.

The Patel Conservatory Space and Equipment Coordinator provides operational support for Education Department classes and events.

Essential Functions:

• Assists with space and equipment for all classes and summer camps (fall, spring, and summer session classes; summer camps; and summer intensives).
• Serves as liaison to resolve calendar conflicts and suggests solutions.
• In coordination with Conservatory Production, maintains inventory of classroom supplies and equipment.
• Assists with student escorting and pick up/drop off as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Education, Work Experience, Qualifications:

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience with theater equipment is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment as a dynamic and supportive team member.
• Flexible schedule and available to work nights and weekends.

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
• Ability to move event materials or theatrical equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Work regularly requires traversing and ascending/descending; approximately 50% of performance facility is reachable only by stairs or ladder.
• Ability to identify and communicate audiovisual difficulties occurring during events/productions.
• Some work may be completed in low light areas and/or areas of restricted access.
• May operate electrical or sound equipment.
• Position occasionally requires work in areas where hazardous materials (e.g., spray paint or cleansers) are present.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be stationary and communicate using a telephone.
• The nature of this job requires the employee work on-site as a regular work routine. Most often, on-site work is required daily.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may get very loud at times

Travel:

• This position is not expected to require travel.
