As a Java Software Developer, you will be responsible for the development of software solutions that meet our needs and our clients' requirements. Your expertise in software development and understanding of industry best practices will be crucial in delivering high-quality software solutions that maximize efficiency and scalability.

Preferred in the following local markets{{:}} Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate closely with the Software Architect and business stakeholders to accurately interpret business requirements and assist in transforming them into technical specifications for development.
• Engage in the design and development processes under the direction of the Software Architect, ensuring solutions are both innovative and in line with best practices.
• Implement and test software solutions, focusing on performance, coding standards, quality assurance, test coverage, and timely delivery.
• Participate in code review sessions to help maintain high standards of code quality and encourage adherence to best practices.
• Work alongside product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to help define and achieve project goals, manage timelines, and ensure clear communication of deliverables.
• Stay informed about emerging technology trends and contribute ideas for enhancing our software development lifecycle.
• Work with other software engineers on the team, working through complex technical issues and promoting a culture of learning and collaboration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years experience in back-end software development using the Java/Spring Boot stack, including database development using JPA/Hibernate and testing frameworks like Junit and EasyMock.
• 5 years working with SQL databases such as PostgreSql.
• Good understanding of software architecture and its application in project development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to work on complex software tasks and contribute to solving technical challenges.
• Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating well in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices, aiming to improve the continuity and quality of software development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with containerization and/or knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud technologies and platforms, such as AWS or Azure, which are crucial for modern software deployment.  Azure is preferred.
• Experience working with message brokers such as Kafka or MQTT to process high volumes of data.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is a plus
• Experience with the TypeScript and the React framework is a plus.

The pay range for this role is between $100,000 - $125,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
