We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher to work with middle and high school students, fostering a positive and growth-oriented learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in students' academic journeys, helping them not only master mathematical concepts but also develop a genuine appreciation for the power and beauty of mathematics.

What You'll Do:

  • Inspire and Educate: Deliver engaging and effective math instruction to middle and high school students, covering a range of topics from foundational concepts to more advanced algebra, geometry, and beyond (Tutoring between 4:30 pm-7:00 pm).
  • Tailor Your Approach: Adapt your teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of individual students.
  • Master the Standards: Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Florida's state standards for mathematics.
  • Test Prep Guru: Prepare students for success on standardized tests, including the Florida FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking) and other relevant assessments (e.g., SAT, ACT, PERT).
  • Unlock Potential: Identify and address learning gaps, providing targeted support and strategies to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Create a Math-Positive Culture: Foster a classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and exploring mathematical ideas with curiosity and enthusiasm.
  • Go Beyond the Textbook: Utilize creative teaching techniques, real-world applications, and interactive activities to make math concepts relevant and exciting.
  • Summer & After-School Opportunities:
  • Summer Camp: Lead engaging math activities and provide targeted instruction during our summer camp program (flexible hours between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
  • After-School Tutoring: Offer individualized or small-group tutoring sessions during after-school hours (flexible schedule based on your availability).

What You Bring:

  • A genuine passion for mathematics and a belief in every student's ability to succeed.
  • Strong knowledge of middle and high school mathematics curriculum and Florida's state standards.
  • Proven ability to effectively prepare students for standardized tests, particularly the Florida FAST.
  • Creative and engaging teaching methodologies that make math accessible and enjoyable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student growth and well-being.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Bonus Points:

  • Florida Teacher Certification (Elementary or Secondary Mathematics).
  • Previous experience teaching in a school setting.
  • Experience developing and implementing innovative math lessons and activities.
  • Familiarity with various educational technologies and online learning platforms.
