Summary
The Construction Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day operations of commercial tenant improvement and build-out projects. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all on-site activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple teams and contractors simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all field operations for commercial tenant improvement and build-out projects, opening and securing/closing construction sites daily.
- Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets safety, quality, and client specifications.
- Coordinate with internal construction team, report to Director of Construction and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain site safety and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and enforce schedules, manage resources, and ensure the proper allocation of materials and labor.
- Conduct daily on-site inspections to ensure construction work is progressing as planned.
- Resolve any on-site issues or delays promptly and effectively.
- Monitor and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and progress photos.
- Foster strong communication with clients, project teams, and subcontractors to maintain clear expectations and successful project outcomes.
- Conduct initial and final walkthroughs and ensure all punch list items are completed before project closeout.
Requirements
- 3 years plus of proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, specifically in commercial tenant improvement and build-out projects, with a proven book subcontractor of relationships in the Metroplex area.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes for tenant improvements and commercial spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings, MEPs, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with construction management software Buildertrend is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in construction management or related field is a plus.
