Streck is recruiting for a Biostatistics Intern to join our Biostats team this summer. This position will help in the designing, implementing, analyzing, and interpreting of statistical studies to empower research and development efforts. They will do this through the collection of data. Projects will require substantial knowledge of current statistical methodologies and applications.
The Primary Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with a senior-level statistician on a research project
- Potential topics may include reproducibility studies and data analysis, survival analysis, data visualization, mixed effects models etc. with applications to hematology, oncology, immunology, virology, or clinical research in general.
- As an employee of Streck, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to our customers.
- Opportunity to present?your?research results at the end of the program?and may have the chance to summarize?your?work in a peer-reviewed publication.
Requirements include:
Minimum Requirements :
- D. student in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field preferred.
- Industry experience with a bachelor’s or master’s level degree in good academic standing
- 2 years of academic research or industry experience related to designing, analyzing, and implementing statistical methods is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
- Strong ability to interact with others and to distill complex concepts for generalized audiences.
- Proficiency with SAS/Base, SAS Macro, R or like software preferred.

- Ability to design experiments that test a clear and concise hypothesis.
- Ability to present technical material in a written format.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet scheduled and/or project deadlines.

- Ability to think creatively with strong problem solving and strong planning experience.
- Strong listening skills are necessary.
- Strong analytical, data analysis and interpretation skills
Work Schedule:
- 8-hour days – Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Dress Code Requirements:
- Casual – jeans and t-shirt
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Medium work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
