What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Software Engineer position at Strella?
Strella’s Mission:
At Strella, we are dedicated to addressing the critical issue of food waste. In the US alone, over 40% of fresh produce is wasted, resulting in more than $17 billion in lost product annually and generating more carbon dioxide emissions than all of US transportation combined. Globally, food that is never consumed accounts for 7% of the global freshwater supply and 308MM hectares of land. Our goal is to reduce these drastic numbers by making the produce supply chain smarter.
Strella leverages proprietary sensors to predict shelf life within the food supply chain, aiming to minimize food waste and ensure better quality produce reaches consumers. With four years of commercialization behind us, we are now in a dynamic growth phase.
Role:
We are looking for an ambitious, quality-driven Senior Software Engineer to help build and maintain our product offerings in various development stages in a scalable way. Our platform relies on high-volume IoT data as the foundation to assist our global customer base in making critical decisions about produce. You will drive innovation across the Strella product line, working full-stack to enhance workflow automation, data analytics, real-time alerting, and create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that transform complex data into actionable insights.
As a startup, we value self-starters who can seamlessly adapt to multiple roles, and are comfortable evaluating tradeoffs and making concrete decisions in areas of ambiguity. Our rapid growth requires individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
