Stress Engineering Services Inc. provides custom engineering solutions across various industries including evaluating the safety of oil refineries to the design of consumer products. We specialize in design and analysis, thermal and fluid sciences, instrumentation, and testing.
We are currently seeking an Information Technology Analyst to join our team. The IT Analyst will provide support for Stress Engineering Services, Inc. (SES) information systems, working under the supervision and guidance of the SES IT Director. SES operates primarily in a Microsoft environment but does maintain several Red Hat Linux servers.
The IT Analyst's role is to enable engineers to excel in their projects by maintaining and identifying issues within the company's infrastructure and providing day-to-day support to staff. Responsibilities include troubleshooting SES systems, identifying recurring issues through a root cause analysis mindset, and providing technical assistance across the organization, contributing to the overall success of SES.
This is an in-office position located in our Houston, TX office.
Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage and resolve support tickets using the ticketing system.
- Provide informal, one-on-one training sessions to SES staff.
- Diagnose and support conferencing systems and related activities as required.
- Address and resolve complex computer issues and basic TCP/IP network problems.
- Troubleshoot software-related problems, including those with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and various other engineering applications.
- Handle daily helpdesk inquiries originating from the ticketing system.
- Configure and deploy new computers for employees using Microsoft Intune.
- Install necessary software on computers as needed.
- Procure office supplies.
- Create and manage computer user accounts within the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Document system configurations and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in maintaining data integrity and security protocols.
- Support network and firewall configuration tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Possess at least one relevant IT certification—such as CompTIA A , Network , Linux , Microsoft Certified: AZ-104, MCTS, MCITP, MCP, MCSA, or MCSE—or a degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging empathetically and effectively across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Strong ability to multitask successfully.
- Possess the technical skills to develop technology used to improve business systems.
- Applicants must have U.S. Person status to perform the duties of this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years' experience supporting Microsoft Windows computers, Microsoft Azure, Intune, and TCP/IP networks.
- Hands on Experience with Azure and Office 365 products.
- Basic proficiency with Linux or UNIX based operating systems.
- Experience with Network Licensing such as FlexLM, OpenLM, RLM, etc.
- Experience supporting engineering applications such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks
- Experience with HP workstations, laptops, servers, and printers.
