The GM plays a key leadership role, managing staff, creating marketing strategies, and fostering a positive and disciplined environment aligned with the mission and values of the martial arts facility.
Key Responsibilities
**Operations Management**
- Oversee daily operations, including class scheduling, staff management, and facility maintenance.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment for members.
- Monitor and manage the facility's budget, expenses, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
**Team Leadership**
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, including instructors, sales representatives, and administrative personnel.
- Lead regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and feedback.
- Foster a positive and disciplined workplace culture that reflects martial arts values.
**Member Engagement & Retention**
- Build strong relationships with members to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Address member concerns, feedback, and complaints professionally and effectively.
- Monitor attendance and participation trends to identify growth opportunities.
**Sales & Marketing**
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create campaigns, social media content, and promotional events.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to drive membership sales and revenue growth.
**Key Deliverables**
- Drive a net gain of 15 members per month.
- Add cardio kickboxing classes 5 times a week to the schedule.
- Grow the private and semi-private training program.
- Build out the MMA program to run 6 times per week.
- Add 3x wrestling classes per week to the schedule.
- Add 2x more no-gi classes per week to the schedule.
**Program Development**
- Work with instructors to ensure high-quality classes and programs.
- Introduce new classes, events, or workshops to meet community needs and increase engagement.
- Maintain and update program schedules to optimize attendance and resource utilization.
**Customer Service Excellence**
- Uphold a standard of excellence in customer service across all touchpoints.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for members of all ages and skill levels.
Qualifications
**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field (optional).
- Background in Gym/Martial Arts Management (preferred).
- 3 years of management experience, preferably in fitness, martial arts, or a similar environment.
- Martial arts training or familiarity with martial arts disciplines (optional).
- Six Sigma certification (optional) and a background in Lean Process Improvement.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proven ability to meet sales and revenue targets.
- Proficiency in business software, such as Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
