Summary: Responsible for efficiently supporting drivers and preparing deliveries so that delivery routes can go out in a timely manner by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Process prescriptions thru the company software system; bag orders for routes then sort them into appropriate areas for the drivers.
2. Provides quality customer service by maintaining a global knowledge of all pharmacy operations.
3. Processes all pick up prescription items for pharmacy clients.
4. Ensures appropriate documentation is completed in accordance with pharmacy regulations and guidelines including completion of signature logs, controlled substance tracking, NOPPS, and Medicare forms.
5. Maintains accurate record keeping of pharmacy transactions through completion of charge tickets and cash register entry.
6. Ensures accuracy of cash, credit/debit cards, receipts on account, and charge on account transactions.
7. Works effectively with pharmacy staff to ensure follow through on client services including directing clients to appropriate staff and determining client priority for the pharmacy workflow.
8. Assists customers or facilities at the service counter.
9. Packages prescription medications according to the pharmacy standards.
10. Checks for copays on labels for customers.
11. Makes phone calls for residential customers for authorization for delivery.
12. Updates customer accounts with demographics.
13. Responsible for associate signed delivery logs to customer accounts.
14. Responsible for preparing customer order to be mailed.
15. Ensures workstation supplies are maintained including notifying appropriate staff for reordering.
16. Required to attend and complete all mandatory training and events.
17. Performs other miscellaneous tasks as required.
Requirement of the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services - Pharmacy Examining Board
Age and Education – Applicant satisfies one of the following:
-The applicant is at least 18 years of age and has graduated from high school or has attained high school graduation equivalence as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
-The applicant is enrolled in a youth apprenticeship program for pharmacy technicians that is on the list of youth apprenticeship programs approved by the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) under Wis. Stat. § 106.132m).
