Due to our continued growth, we seek to hire an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team.
Summary: The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll for eight hundred-plus employees across multiple states and locations. The Payroll Clerk will assist with processing and managing leaves of absence, onboarding employees, maintaining personnel records, and troubleshooting employee-related matters for payroll & benefits inquiries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll.
- Responsible for ensuring proper flow and maintenance of pre and post-payroll/HR detailed reports.
- Monitors the submissions of approved timesheets and ensures valid data transfers to/from Paycom payroll.
- Ensure accuracy of timesheets; track and enter deductions, process special payment requests, and verify compliance with company policies and federal/state/local regulations.
- Handle employee complaints and analyze/solve employee payroll issues. Adjust errors and issue corrections where necessary.
- Act as liaison with Paycom payroll on troubleshooting and solving Payroll or HR system issues.
- Prepare source documentation needed for new hires, payroll changes, status, and/or benefits.
- Support benefits administration tasks to include employee inquiries and the annual open enrollment cycle.
- Manage and assess requests for information and prepare complex or sensitive internal and external correspondence.
- Record maintenance and control: personnel and payroll.
- May provide administrative support to the HR Department.
- Participate in special projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

- Experience working with payroll systems, Paycom preferred.
- Understanding of benefits administration.
- Solid knowledge of employment/payroll laws.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Solid time management skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- High level of attention to detail.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience performing payroll for hourly and salaried employees; multi-state.
- Prior experience with multi-state tax withholdings, garnishments, employee verifications, reconciling hours & wages, etc.
- Experience working with HR systems and their various transactions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Advanced MS Excel skills are preferred with knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and functions.
