We are currently looking for a qualified Purchasing Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis and query skills to support our team. This role involves analyzing purchasing data, optimizing the supply chain, and generating detailed reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Use queries (e.g., SQL) to analyze purchasing trends, inventory levels, and supplier performance, providing actionable insights, detailed reporting, and suggestions for returns and clearance sales
- Query Management: Create and optimize complex queries to extract essential data, supporting procurement decisions
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce costs through process improvements, vendor negotiations, and strategic purchasing.
- Supplier Relations: Monitor and track supplier performance to improve efficiency and reliability
- Process Improvement: Assist in streamlining purchasing processes and ensuring inventory levels meet business needs
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align purchasing strategies with company goals
- Purchasing: Build relationships with vendors and trusted brands
- Invoicing: Process invoices and contact vendors if there are invoicing, accounting or receiving issues; provide accounting with credit memos and account statements
- Marketing: Provide marketing team with digital marketing materials from vendors and collaborate to create digital marketing material for website and social media, in relation to planned sales or promotions
- Decision-Making: Use data on trends and performance to effectively make decisions on purchases, returns, clearance, sales, etc.
- Occasional travel required (Trade shows, conventions)
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience: 2-3 years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL and data analysis tools (preferred).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Communication: Ability to clearly communicate complex data both verbally and in writing.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of managing multiple tasks with precision.
