The Data Analyst - BSA is responsible for scoping, designing, testing, and maintaining the Stride Bank Data Warehouse with an emphasis on AML/BSA compliance. This Data Analyst will develop and deliver tailored solutions to support the Payments Division, ensuring data quality, regulatory adherence, and operational efficiency. This position will partner with internal teams throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring all Bank and operational requirements are met while delivering reliable, scalable, and well-documented outcomes.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyzes and ensures data integrity within the Stride Bank Data Warehouse, focusing on AML/BSA-specific datasets to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance data quality across ingestion and processing workflows.
- Leverages expertise in data transformation, integrity checks, and orchestration tools (ETL/SSIS, Power BI, etc.) to optimize AML/BSA data pipelines, emphasizing the detection and remediation of data inconsistencies from source to presentation layers.
- Collaborates with Compliance, Risk, and Executive teams to design and deliver precise, actionable reports and dashboards tailored to AML/BSA requirements, enabling informed decision-making and audit readiness.
- Works directly with Information Services leadership and the Data Team to develop scalable, reliable solutions for processing high-volume AML/BSA datasets, ensuring robust error handling, uptime, and performance.
- Serves as a key resource in automating data analysis and review processes, identifying patterns and anomalies related to suspicious activities, and streamlining the resolution of flagged transactions or records.
- Partners with non-technical teams to bridge communication gaps, gathering requirements and building dashboards that provide transparency into AML/BSA data cleanliness and process performance.
- Develops and supports automated data testing frameworks, focusing on proactive identification of data quality issues and generating detailed resolution reporting for AML/BSA compliance tracking.
- Stays abreast of AML/BSA regulatory requirements and emerging technologies to recommend and implement improvements that align with evolving industry standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, required.
- 3 years’ experience in banking, financial services, or payments industry, or in a business analytics role, required.
- Experience with on-premises hosting environments, VMware/MS Server and MSSQL, required.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate data dictionary for new data source and own all downstream development of the pipeline.
- In-depth knowledge of data analysis and quality assurance practices, particularly within the context of AML/BSA compliance and financial data pipelines.
- Experience maintaining normalized databases, with a focus on ensuring data integrity and scalability for regulatory reporting and analytics.
- Demonstrable expertise in identifying, investigating, and remediating errors in data pipelines, including inbound ingestion and outbound reporting processes critical to compliance efforts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, balancing routine data monitoring with dynamic response to compliance and operational needs.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional discussions, fostering collaboration among technical and non-technical teams to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive process improvements in data governance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume data environment, ensuring timely and accurate analysis of large, complex datasets for compliance and operational excellence.
