Description
The Commercial Loan Assistant III provides support to the Bank’s commercial lenders by servicing, maintaining, and updating loan documentation and loan files. This position requires substantial interaction with new and current Bank customers, both internal and external.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates the preparation, review, and execution of required loan documentation, organizes workflow for loan renewal, and follows up with appropriate parties for missing loan documentation, as necessary.
- Resolves exceptions, or any other documentation deficiencies, while actively managing outstanding exception items for compliance with Credit Policy.
- Works closely with assigned lender(s) to assist with customer outreach, including but not limited to, data collection, wires, NSF accounts, and overdrafts.
- Monitors reports for potential or pending issues, including but not limited to, past dues, paid off loans, criticized assets, and maturing loans.
- Promotes an outstanding customer experience by exemplifying prompt follow-up and proactive customer communication.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of a cooperative and supportive relationship with other departments within the Bank.
- Serves as back-up for retail banking department, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
- 5 years’ experience in lending assistant role, required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Advanced understanding of commercial loan documentation.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
